Solitaire by Alice Oseman — 1.5 stars
Reviewed by Debby from Snuggly Oranges
“In fact, the ending just left so much more to be desired. I didn’t get why Becky suddenly came back to Tori after legit ending their friendship. I was still wondering where the hell Michael came from at the beginning of the book – why he was so interested in Tori at all and what his mental illness exactly is.”
Things We Know By Heart by Jessi Kirby — 5 stars
Reviewed by Book Passion For Life
“I loved Things We Know by Heart. It’s such a short story – just 300 pages – which I flew through it within a day. Had it of not been for work I would have finished it much quicker. “
Steering the Stars by Autumn Doughton and Erica Cope
Reviewed by Terri Beth from Lives and Breathes Book Blog
“Steering the Stars was a heartwarming read full of feels; my emotions went through everything with Hannah and Caroline. There was no crazy angst or drama, it was just a really great story of friendship, family, and love. “
Love, Lucy by April Lindner
Reviewed by Gabby from Chapter by Chapter
“I enjoyed Love, Lucy more than I imagined possible. Just like with Catherina, Lindner creates a diverse cast of memorable characters. Beyond that she creates a perfect romance in Jesse and Lucy. Every scene that they have together is one that is filled with chemistry and the promise of something more coming up later on in the story. “
I Was Here by Gayle Forman — 2.5 stars
Reviewed by Nereyda from Mostly YA Book Obsessed
“Unfortunately, the romance between Cody and her dead best friends old hookup Ben, was a little bit too much for me. I like to have romance in my books. But in some rare cases, I’m perfectly okay with no romance in a book. This would have been a perfect example. “
American Savages by J.J. McAvoy — 5 stars
Reviewed by Danielle from Lives and Breathes Book Blog
“If you were to ask me right now what my favorite series was, Ruthless People by J..J. McAvoy would most definitely be at the top of my list! J.J. McAvoy is an author you should keep your eye on because the woman is talented! Her creativity is impressive! The evolution that occurred within this series was original and captivating.”
Confess by Colleen Hoover — 3.5 stars
Reviewed by Cezanne from BCS Reviews
“I loved the confessions aspect of the story and the beautiful art work, but it didn’t make up for what the story lacked. Ultimately I wanted more for this book. Even though this was not my favorite book from Ms. Hoover, I still enjoyed the writing even though I did not connect with it how I had hoped to.”
Perfect Couple by Jennifer Echols — 4 stars
Reviewed by Becca from Lost in Literature
“Jennifer Echols’ light and funny writing style really worked for me. Her characters and story line were infectious, light and fun! I will definitely be reading more by her…”
Hearts of Fire by L.H. Cosway — 4 stars
Reviewed by Brenna from No BS Book Reviews
“…this is a beautifully written book that had me hooked from the very beginning. I couldn’t put it down and devoured every little moment. Lille and Jack’s story is intense but realistic, sweet, romantic, and passionately hot.”
My Time in the Affair by Stylo Fantome — 4 stars
Reviewed by Maryse’s Book Blog
“Well written and well laid out overall, with surprises, angst, BIG fear and feels. Not as intense for me as some of my favorites in this genre, so I was able to put it down…”
The Virgin’s Daughter by Laura Anderson — 5 stars
Reviewed by Erin from Fiction Fare
“Just know that the minute I finished this I was scouring goodreads to find out when the next book comes out because it was that good! The end of this one definitely leaves you wondering what will happen next for everyone involved.”
Black Rainbow by J.J. McAvoy — 4.5 stars
Reviewed by Louisa and Kerry from Blushing Babes are Up All Night
“We go from past to present, we have the chance to see the week of no holds barred sex and fun and getting to know each other, while they learned to deal with the student/teacher relationship! I read it in a day because I was so caught up in the suspense and relationship between these two that I just couldn’t STOP!”
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir — 3.5 stars
Reviewed by Jamie from Rampant Readers
“Elias is the second POV character in this book, and admittedly, it took a while for me to find something significant about him. He’s a soldier torn between his duty and freedom, but what I found more fascinating was his relationship with Helene, his best friend. “
The Shameless Hour by Sarina Bowen — 4.5 stars
Reviewed by Ana from The Book Hookup
“his book had laugh out loud moments (thanks to Pepe and his “bonnaire”), extremely sad moments and times that made me angry. Once again, Ms. Bowen managed to take me through the spectrum of emotion seamlessly…I never knew what I’d feel next. “
Joyride by Anna Banks — 4 stars
Reviewed by Amy from Xpresso Reads
“Yes, there’s a romance in here, but I love how it was done. Carly doesn’t just fall at Arden’s feet. In fact, she tries hard to push him away and to get him to leave her alone. Once she starts to get to know him though, she realized he is nothing like she expected.”
Never Never Part Two by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher — 5 stars
Reviewed by Krystle from K&M Book Haven
“I love the story, the mystery, the characters, the suspense…I love it all. I highly recommend these quick reads and if you’re worried about starting because of the cliffhangers stop being a wimp 😉 pull up those big girl panties and hop on the crazy train! It’s totally worth it!”
