Okay, so I know we’re nearly two months into summer, so this post is a little late. But, hey, it’s going to be hot for another couple of months. I thought I’d put together a list of essentials for readers when it’s freaking hot as crap outside. I hope you enjoy!
1.) This Awesome Hammock
This hammock was an Amazon Daily Deal well over a year ago. I remember it because I contemplated buying it at the time. It was going for a wicked ridiculous price. My dumb self didn’t buy it and, that is something I will regret for a long time.
Seriously though, this would a PERFECT reading spot on a hot summer day.

2.) This Bitchin’ Fan
Admittedly, I chose this fan because it has a remote. Let’s be real, you don’t want to be getting up out of your hammock to turn the fan on, right? I didn’t think so. Plus it’s called “The Blizzard” and that just makes me feel cold, which is what I want to feel when the Lord creates an inferno of hell outside.

4.) This Fancy Ass Water Bottle
I’ve yet to experience the supposed awesomeness of the S’Well Water Bottle but apparently it works miracles. And by “works miracles” I mean it keeps your drinks hot or cold for a long ass time. So I thought this magical bottle (that’s probably made from wizardry) would be perfect for long summer nights reading outside in that sweet ass hammock (bringing it full circle people). How many times can I use the word “ass” in this paragraph? Ass. Ass. Ass. Ass. Ass.
5.) Not Your Father’s Root Beer
Author Beth Ehemann posted about this beer on Facebook a few weeks ago. And when I saw it I thought The Lord has created a beer especially for me. I’m not a beer drinker. But this girl LOVES root beer, like really.

6.) Be Smart. Go Waterproof.
Don’t jack up your precious eReader *my precious* by getting water all up in there. There is a waterproof case for just about every device.
7.) A Freaking Float!
Look at how happy she looks. That could be you. You can get your adult floaty right here.
8.) Always wear Sunscreen
While Baz Luhrmann’s song/speech from the 1990’s focused on living a happy life, the title preaches an important lesson here. KOLBEE, I’m talking to you.

10.) Mood Lighting
Set the mood with these twinkle lights. I believe the description on the first is “Fairy Lights”. FAIRY LIGHTS, PEOPLE! I need to get some of these. And you know you want that tacky “It’s 5:00 Somewhere” sign. 😉
