#TeamLOLA — Top Ten Reasons Why Cricket Bell is MINE

It’s no secret among my friends that I love Cricket Bell.  So when you ask me if I’m on Team Anna or Team Lola, I answer with a resounding, “TEAM LOLA!”  Why?  Because that lucky lady gets Cricket Bell all to herself. Hrumph!

I don’t even feel the slightest bit creepy confessing my love for Cricket Bell.  Yes, I’m 29 and he’s 18 (going on 19), but age is just a number, right?  The heart wants what the heart wants.  Okay, so I know he has a girlfriend.  Lola Nolan.  Blah Blah Blah!  I know that he is a fictional character.  I don’t want to hear it.  Just let me hold on to my delusions and pretend that he’s real and he’s mine and that we’re in love.

You’re probably wondering why I love him so much.  Let me enlighten you.  *taps mic* Is this thing on?  *clear throat*  I present to you:  The top ten reasons why Cricket Bell is ALL MINE.

1.) You can depend on Cricket.  He will ALWAYS be there when you need him to be.  He’s the perfect shoulder to cry on.

Example #1:  He spent his childhood and adolescence following his sister, Calliope, from figuring skating competition to competition without a complaint.

Example #2:  When Lola is having a bad time, he was there to listen.

2.) Cricket Bell has all the brains and then some.  Translation:  He’s really freaking smart.

He looks like this in my head:

3.) He’s not opposed to breaking the rules to get what he wants.

4.) He’s patient, yet persistent.

Lola has a boyfriend when Cricket moves back into the house next door.  Let’s just say that he doesn’t barge in on Lola’s relationship.  Instead, he waits.  He wants for Lola to decide what she wants.

“But you’ll want me someday? That feeling you once had for me … that hasn’t left either?”
Our hearts beat the same wild rhythm. They’re playing the same song.
“It never left,” I say.”

5.) He will put you first.

6.) He’s a good kisser.

7.) He can do your hair when you’re not in the mood.

Nuff said.

8.)  He has a lot of surprises up his sleeves.

9.) He’s an excellent dresser and will make sure to coordinate outfits with you.

10.) He’s a giver.

He glances down and notices that I’m still wearing a certain blue something, and, this time, it’s HIS index finger that wraps underneath MY rubber band.
I shiver wonderfully. “I’m never taking it off.”
Cricket brushes the delicate skin of my wrist. “It’ll fall off.”
“I’ll ask you for another one.”
“I’ll give you another one.” He smiles and touches his nose to mine.”

What about you?  Are you Team Anna, Team Lola, or Team Isla?
